Oahu Hawaii Day 4-5

Day 4- May 4th, 2014:

We woke up early to get Malasadas at Leonard’s Bakery. I recommend the chocolate filled ones. They are really good!

Then we went to Honauma Bay to snorkel. It is one of the most popular snorkeling spots in Oahu. It has beautiful views, the reef is very shallow and the snorkeling is pretty good.

We then went to Lanikai Beach which is probably the most beautiful beach we visited. The view of the small islands was amazing and the sand was very soft and clean. The water was a beautiful teal color and very clear. The snorkeling was pretty good here too.

Then we hiked Makapuu and saw a light house and some amazing views!

We then ended this fun filled day on the North shore at Turtle Beach to watch the turtles at sunset. This place is awesome there are tons of turtles on the beach and in the waves! We came back the next day too!

Day 5- May 5th, 2014:

Early on our 5th day we went to the Kualoa Ranch to take a tour of actual filming locations of some very famous movies and tv shows like Jurassic Park, 50 First Dates, Godzilla, Lost, and a bunch of others…

We then ate at Sunny Side for brunch. We missed breakfast which I was really bummed about because I heard it is way better than lunch. The food we had was okay, but the chocolate cream pie was amazing!!!

We also went to Tropical Farms the macadamia nut farm. I was a little disappointed because I thought we’d get to see the actual farm/ harvesting process. Basically it was a store that sold macadamia nuts and coffee. The nuts were very good and there are lots of flavors to taste test before you buy. We got macadamia nut butter cookies that were really good.

We also went back to Turtle Beach and saw lots of adorable sea turtles…

We also decided last minute to visit the beach called Mokuleia Beach from Lost the tv show that we love. It is the actual beach they filmed during the first two seasons. It is where the plane crashed (on the show). It had an amazing mountainous backdrop and was very secluded. We actually read that there have been people know to go topless here, so beware, but we didn’t see any of that. There was only one other couple on the entire beach when we visited. It was a bit rainy, so maybe that was why it was so empty. We also tried to do some snorkeling here but the tide was vicious, so be very careful if you actually dare to go in the water! The north shore is known for its strong waves.

We then drove around with the top down to another spot… can’t remember the name to watch the sunset…
